Head of Tennis Operations

David Mejia joins the HCC staff as the Head fo Tennis Operations. He has served as the Head
Professional at Reunion Golf and Country Club for over 2 years where he played a key role in running
one of the largest and most active tennis programs in the Southeast.
David is originally from Bogota, Colombia. He received a tennis scholarship to Fresno City College in
Fresno, California in 2011, where he began his college career. He transferred to Belhaven University
where he continued his playing career and graduated with a degree in Business Administration in 2015.
During his college career he was named as Belhaven’s All-Academic Student Athlete as well as being
awarded a spot on the All-Conference Team and was named an All-American in his senior year. David
received his Master’s in Business Administration from Mississippi College and served as the assistant
coach for the men’s and women’s tennis teams. During his stint at MC he helped the women’s team
reach the Division II National Championships and was a catalyst in helping the team earn its first ever
NCAA national ranking. David has served as the Director of Junior Tennis at Parham Bridges since 2016.
David has developed juniors of all ages and has coached numerous nationally ranked players and served
as Mississippi’s Southern Closed coach for 12s, 14s, 16s and 18’s. He enjoys working with juniors and
adults of all ages and ability levels and has been active in coaching adult JLTA and USTA league teams
who have won multiple state championships.
